work in the coming year
I suspect the new year will be an interesting one for me.
I mentioned to my supervisor that I had asked HR if there was any talk of lifting the transgender health care exclusion (the answer of course was no, not that I expected otherwise) and she reveled that I was already the subject of upper management - they had questioned her about me and basically they don't know what to think or how to handle the matter.
I can not help but wonder if I would be better served if I just went full time; although I really want to get rid of the facial hair before that point.

Re: work in the coming year
Although I stopped my hair removal at about half way, I still claimed the cost as a valid health care deduction. I don't know what your tax situation is but since you have already declared to your employer your desire to transition, you should be covered to make the deduction.
Some might say this is cosmetic, but the Veterans Administration considers this to be part of the transition process - but, alas they won't pay for the electrolysis.

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. If the Government is inefficient, top-heavy, and tax-mad, better it is all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag.
