My Christmas Empty My Christmas

It was a simple holiday. Just my immediate family and a few gifts exchanged among ourselves. How was yours?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. If the Government is inefficient, top-heavy, and tax-mad, better it is all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag.

My Christmas Empty ... and New Year's resolutions!!!

Post  Celia Eriksson on Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:03 pm

Hi Miki!!!!

In actual of fact it was superbical and magical!! I guess it started getting really good Christmas Eve with a visit to two friends where we had quite a good afternoon, mainly talking but also with a game of scrabble. I then picked up my very best firend who spent Christmas Eve evening with me and we watched the Crown on Netflix. I was so surprised how good it was! After that when I got home late I had some wine and a good sleepy, then Christmas day at my Brother's house with my Sister-in-law, niece and Mother. It was a very lovely day. Today I did a little shopping, but am very relaxed now and will open a bottle of Rose soon before beddybyes.

So on to New Year's resolutions! I hope I can get my rhinoplasty done this year, maybe by July. Secondly I am going to eat even healthier. Thirdly I want to improve my golf, since straining my thumbsicle I have not played or practised, but it is on the mend so I will be back on the ranges hopefully soon! Lastly, I hope, as always, I can finally find 'the one'!

Quite some resolutions, and, if in one years time I have done them all I will be one very happy bunny!!!!!

My Christmas Empty Re: My Christmas

Post  Michi on Fri Dec 27, 2019 4:17 am

Christmas Eve I went to my mom's condo and we had a dinner and talked for a couple hours. Christmas Day I took Rex, a Daniff, to the dog park and then went to my sisters who had her husband's side of the family there and my mom. Rex was already tired and they had a puppy there that wanted to wrestle which he did. He behaved well, he gets a little standoffish with new people. And can be a bully.

Edit: And it was 57 degrees in Milwaukee.

Ours was a bit of a positive milestone. For the first time my wife was able to check out of the rehab center, get in our car, the we drove to our daughter’s house for a wonderful Christmas dinner with all our ken dp and grandkids.

Though her left lower leg remains paralyzed, she has wonderful physical and occupational therapists.

Three months ago I wasn’t sure she would be here for Christmas this year. Yet here she is, responding well to the chemo, gaining some weight back and showing her sense of humor.

Hi Liz,

I am very glad to here that, I wish her a full recovery and a day when she has full remission and she is 'all clear'.

Cancer is a blight upon us all, for there are too many that fall to the awful C.

But! If I may mention of numerous cases that I hear of on a regular basis, that is those considered or thought to be diagnosed beyond hope, that recover and even more than that recover with full remission.

Sadly.... obviously, that is not always so and as everyone knows, it can also re-occur.

My Father died of a tumour, even though he left this Earth with us both having been apart and not talking for no less than three decades, yet, I cannot dispel my sadness. There are, as I say, many success stories though, so never give up hope. I have two close friends that suffered breast cancer that have had full remission and a male friend that is no less than 75 having being diagnosed with prostrate cancer, at least eight years ago.

I have lost others...

I am sure we will lick cancer one day, it cannot come soon enough. I hate you Cancer!!!

Best wishes Elizabeth,

Celia xx

My Christmas Empty Re: My Christmas

Christmas, it was just  us. No relatives. I cooked dinner mostly as ever.

I  was a bit  nervous getting it together but I was comfortable. I thought
Anyway it was fine until I was placing the  gravy on the table and it stained the centrepiece, which she'd bought. She with wine,  overreacted made a fuss. I  literally panicked, clearly I was  more  wound up than I realised. My son  noticed and tried to help.

I  stepped  back and almost  froze.

I got  over it and brought the rest of the dinner over. Then I spilt something else on the  cloth and i panicked completely and really wanted to run. But  my  son  stopped me. He's  twelve.

After that everything was great. My wife  never got it.

My son  saw me almost  melt down.

He hasn't  mentioned it since. Anyway  we had a good Christmas  otherwise.

It was a good Christmas overall
